The Store
​We're a family owned and operated full-service grocery store located in the heart of downtown Charlottesville. We carry over 5,500 products-- everything from Spam to the highest quality Prosciutto di Parma, so there's something for everyone. In addition to the common fare, we have gluten-free items, local produce and products, and an extensive beer and wine selection.
Our deli makes fresh sandwiches, wraps and salads to order. We use both Boar's Head Meats and our own house-roasted meats in our delicious made-to-order sandwiches. The deli also offers soups, sides and freshly baked desserts. We offer catering with delivery for all of our deli menu items.
How We Started
What do a tennis player and an artist have in common?
They own Market Street Market. Former tennis player Raphael Strumlauf and his father, Steve, who is a sculptor, started the Market in 2009. The doors opened in September and have been open every day (except Christmas) since then.
The Cafe
In 2015, we started Market Street Cafe in the SNL FInancial building downtown (about four blocks from the Market). We offer coffees, teas, breakfast, lunch and snacks. Come check us out!
